FAQS

What are the flowers made from?

Our flowers are handmade with shavings of the Tapioca Trees root & bark, most commonly known as Sola Wood. Most flowers come from Thailand where men and women of the Thai villages shave the root into thin layers, hand cut, and then hand tie them into flowers. When I get the flowers from my suppliers, I make sure to check them closely for any damage that may have occurred during shipping to ensure the best quality flowers are being used for my customers items. Because these flowers are made from a natural source, there can be small wood knots found on them, which makes them so unique. No flower is the same, being from nature and then handmade. I believe that this is a big part of what makes these flowers so special, along with the fact that they never die! I also create some flowers myself for special orders. Although these wood flowers are stronger than real flowers, they are still delicate and can get damaged with rough handling.

Do you make any of the flowers yourself?

I do! For wedding bouquets and other custom orders, sometimes I just can’t find the right flower from my supplier or maybe the customer wants a few larger flowers for a focal point in their arrangement. That is when I get to be extra creative and make the flowers with my own hands. It is a joy to create one of a kind flowers when the need or want arises.

Do you do custom orders?

Absolutely! We enjoy working with our customers to create the items they are hoping for. Wedding orders need to be placed at least 3-6 months in advance of delivery date and Home Décoritems need to be placed at least 3 weeks in advance of delivery date. Any Wedding order placed within 6 weeks of date of delivery needed will have an additional rush fee added to total charge.

How do I know what you make is what I’m really wanting for my custom Wedding order?

Be ready to answer lots of questions! What type of flowers do you like? Wedding colors? Bridal party size? Do you have a theme? Do you have any inspiration photos you can send us? Don’t be shy, tell us as much as you can so we can do the best we can to make your florals perfect. During the creating process you will receive updates and photos to be sure we are on the right track for your vision.

Are the leaves made from wood too?

All leaves (greenery) and other fillers in arrangements are either preserved, dried, faux, or a combination of these.

How do I care for my flowers?

Your wood flowers can last forever with proper care. If your flowers become dusty you can use a can of compressed air or a hairdryer on cool to blow dust away (please hold at least 12 inches away) Your flowers and some greenery are made of all-natural materials and can mold or mildew in closed air conditions. DO NOT store in a tightly closed container for long periods of time. Dyed flowers may fade over time if displayed in direct sunlight. Flowers are best suited for indoor display, but can be outdoors behind storm doors, or on well covered porches. Wood flowers will fall apart if left out in the rain/snow/high winds. Flowers can lose shape in very high humidity environments. Use caution when displaying near tubs or showers. A guest bath or a well-ventilated bathroom is recommended. Essential oils can be applied to your flowers for long lasting scent. For best results, oil should be applied to the bottoms of backs of flowers to prevent discoloration.
